RIBs & Motorboats

Haines maintain many different types of craft including up to 30ft ribs and motorboats or 6 tonne Sailing yachts. The full range of engines can be looked after from inboard, diesel or petrol, to outboard, 2-stroke or 4-stroke. Haines are able to launch, store and recover these craft as well as carry out a full maintenance schedule.

At the beginning of the season, the inflatable tubes of ribs will need inflating up and the elephant trunks, scuppers and drains cleared of debris. The topsides of GRP craft should be waxed and polished using a product that contains a high level of hard carnauba wax and powerful UV absorbers. This will protect the gel coat and slow down the detrimental effects of weather, salt and UV degradation.

In the spring an inboard engine will require re-commissioning after its winterisation and service the previous autumn. Providing the outboard engine was winterised and serviced at layup all that will be required is to run it up and check all the controls are operational.

During the summer Haines offer storage for ribs, motorboats, sailing dinghies and trailers at our various storage locations. An owner launch and recover service at Ferryside is also available.
