GRP Repairs and maintenance
Gel Coat Maintenance
Coloured gel coats particularly red and blue are vulnerable to fading and dullness over time due to everyday wear, UV exposure, and saltwater conditions.
Our skilled team specialises in restoring tired gel coats, removing stains, scuffs, and surface imperfections to bring back a deep, lasting shine and protect the finish.
Once restored, gel coat topsides benefit from regular waxing and polishing. To protect against weathering, salt, and UV damage, we apply a premium product containing wax and advanced UV absorbers. Applied with a damp cloth and buffed using microfibre, it delivers a brilliant gloss finish.
Brand new vessels also need preparation before launching. Our experienced painters will mark the waterline, abrade and prime the hull, and apply antifouling for optimal protection and performance.
GRP Repairs
Our shipwrights carry out GRP repairs using modern techniques and high quality materials such as epoxies and fibreglass laminates.
For major damage, affected areas are cut back to a solid substrate before being rebuilt with layered fibreglass matting. Once cured, the repair is filled and faired to achieve a smooth, accurate profile.
The surface is then finished with either a matching gel coat or, for painted hulls, a colour matched paint system.
Smaller repairs, such as minor grazes and dents, follow the same principles on a reduced scale ensuring a seamless, long lasting result.
